Mackenzie began working part-time at Trailer Equipment and Trailer X-Press in 2001.
She has a diversified knowledge of the workings of the company including running parts, stripping decals, changing mud flaps, filing, database updates, marketing and assisting other staff members. Upon graduation from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business, Mackenzie interned as a dispatcher at Amway Global for a year. In January 2011, Mackenzie signed up in a sales capacity for the Leasing and Rental side of the trailer business with Trailer X-Press.
